The Phoenician Main Lobby Reopens after a Five-Month Transformation
After extensive renovations, The Phoenician Main Lobby reopened September 2017, revealing a transformation that brought the resort into a contemporary setting and introduced a new kind of luxury, catering to the modern-day traveler. Debuting a completely new design and layout, the main lobby features a more open concept, accessorized by furniture and art that possesses the warm, inviting hues, textures and colors inspired by the Sonoran Desert.
Within the revamped lobby, there are few new concepts that truly speak to the modern-day way of life. Replacing a traditional front desk are front desk “pods,” introducing a more private, personalized experience for guests when interacting with our front-desk associates. In addition, a touch-screen way finder is readily accessible to assist guests with resort information, such as maps and directions, restaurant hours and menus, daily activities, etc. Furthermore, for guests’ convenience, USB charging stations and outlets are located on the end tables in various sitting areas throughout the lobby.

Thirsty Camel Lounge and Terrace
Introducing a trendier, more inviting “watering hole” for guests and locals alike, the revamped bar features a buzzy atmosphere with live entertainment in the evening, Monday – Saturday. Previous guests of The Phoenician will remember the Thirsty Camel Lounge being tucked away in the corner of the main lobby. After the redesign, the bar was brought out into the middle of the lobby and expanded to match the breathtaking views of the Valley. A new menu, inspired by the Sonoran Desert, features tasty small bites and innovative cocktails that are sure to please any palette.
Out on the terrace, visitors will enjoy lounging on the plush new furniture, accented by creamy whites, tans and teals, creating an oasis feel while looking upon the sparkling swimming pools. The glowing fire-pits create a relaxing aura as guests sip tasty cocktails and admire the vibrant sky, illuminated by an Arizona sunset.

Previously adorning the public sitting areas of the main lobby, Afternoon Tea now has its own private tea room, creating a more intimate and exclusive setting for a truly memorable occasion. Just off the main lobby, the Afternoon Tea room features a warm, inviting color scheme, contemporary furniture, and a fire feature among an ornate marble wall. Resident pianist, Mr. Allen Comyns, plays a stylish selection on a white piano just outside the tea room while guests enjoy the signature three-course menu, featuring house-made finger sandwiches, scrumptious scones, decadent desserts and a selection of fine tea blends.
