Junior Tennis Academy
The Phoenician offers a world class year round training experience for beginning, recreational and high performance training programs for junior players of all levels, ages 5-18. Call Academy Director, Jason Gerardo at 480 423 2488 for evaluation, pricing and registration.
8 & Under
Tuesday and Thursday | 4pm – 5pm
The ’36 Red’ format is played on a 36′ x 8′ court with red compression balls and 19″ to 23″ rackets. Our players are introduced to proper grips, preparation and swing shapes as well as basic footwork stances. Players will learn to play tennis in a fun and exciting game oriented class.
10 & Under
Monday- Thursday | 4pm – 5:30pm
The ’60 Orange’ format is played on a 60′ x 21′ court with orange compression balls and 23″ & 25″ rackets. Our players develop more advanced strokes as well as footwork patterns and recognition skills. Players learn about spin and control using rally based games in a high energy, fast paced, fun class.
12 & Under + Tournament Orange Ball
Monday- Friday | 4pm – 6pm
The ’78 Green’ format is played on a 78′ full court with green dot compression balls and 25″ to 27″ rackets. These athletes will refine stroke technique, movement and recognition skills while improving spin, pace, and tactical decision making. Using fun match and point based games and drills, our players continue to hone their tennis skills.
High Performance Academy
Monday – Friday | 4pm – 6:30pm
High performance training for the serious tournament player. They are understanding what style of play suits them best. These athletes are sectionally and nationally ranked players. Some will go on to play college tennis and beyond.
