The Phoenician Welcomes Spring with Special Savings and
Signature Activities for the Entire Family
SCOTTSDALE Ariz.— (March 12, 2008) – With spring comes the much-anticipated return of warmer weather, and the opportunity to enjoy it with family. At The Phoenician, the luxury resort is in full bloom, whether it’s playing tennis with a Wimbledon pro, taking a stroll through the two-acre Cactus Garden or indulging in the indigenous Southwestern cuisine of Windows on the Green. Now through May 17, 2008, guests can renew and reconnect with The Phoenician’s spring getaway, starting at just $499 per night, a significant savings off peak season rates.
SPRINGTIME IN THE DESERT
Activities are plentiful at The Phoenician, transforming the typical vacation into a personalized interactive experience. From March 14-23, adults can hone their skills in the kitchen, cooking alongside acclaimed Chef de Cuisine Frank Belosic to prepare Italian truffle gnocchi with morel mushrooms. For those interested in a little Southwestern flare, a Tequila Appreciation Class explores the unique history and properties of today’s beverage of choice. Still others can compete in the Texas Hold’em Tournament, or take a Scrapbooking Class to design an album of lasting memories.
All year long, guests can also enjoy signature ritual activities specifically designed for families, such as a self-guided tour of The Phoenician’s $25 million art collection, or an exploration of the two-acre Cactus Garden with the resort’s resident horticulturalist. At night, all can gather around the bonfire for a marshmallow roast with a cowboy storyteller, learn about the constellations by stargazing with an astronomer or take the plunge for a “Dive-In” movie at the Oasis Pool Complex.
GET INTO THE SWING OF THINGS
If tennis is your racket, The Phoenician is the perfect match. Guests, including those budding stars, can improve their game with special clinics hosted by resident instructor Yaz Tavatli and his team of professionals on March 20-22 and March 27-29, at The Phoenician Tennis Garden. Each day begins with a continental breakfast, followed by a teaching clinic and a Pro-Am tournament. The clinics are available for overnight guests only, and are $135 for adults and $125 for juniors.
A TRIPLE CROWN…MIND, BODY, BEAUTY
Re-energize with a revolutionary trio of new skin care therapies at The Centre for Well-Being. The indulgent Maharani Chocolate Decadence Facial, soothing Maharani Chai Tranquility Facial and the ultra-relaxing Ayurvedic Stress Treatment for the Back are a first in the Valley of the Sun. These three new balancing treatments use a true Ayurvedic formula, featuring all-vegan, anti-inflammatory, paraben-free ingredients for the purest of experiences.
TASTE THE SOUTHWEST
Savor the spirit of the Southwest in the rich and relaxing ambiance of Windows on the Green. The AAA Four Diamond restaurant features a distinctive menu designed by Chef de Cuisine Roberto Sanchez, who incorporates robust, indigenous ingredients from his family home in Mexico into each culinary creation. Signature dishes include fresh guacamole prepared tableside and the “Sanchez Forty One” – the chef’s selection of “four” imaginative entrees on “one” dish. A nightly Flamenco guitarist adds flare to the evening, which is accentuated by the restaurant’s whimsical regional art and hand-carved travertine fireplace. With expansive views that stretch from The Phoenician’s lush golf course to the mountains beyond, the restaurant is an experience for the senses.
